My Nail Polish Palette

Depending on the season depends on my nail polish color.  I lean more towards any pastel shades or a sexy red.  Not a huge fan of beat red but a nice crimson shade like my Alma mater is perfect.  In the summer, I do tend to wear a lot of pink.  My favorite is the OPI Beyond Pink or anything similar to that nature.  Any color that isn't too harsh yet still screams girly is great for me.  My favorite thing to do is when I know I have an event or fun party approaching, I will match the exact color of nail polish my dress is going to be.

What I Wore: Galantis

When I was deciding what to wear to the Galantis concert, I ran into a picture of this hot girl on Pinterest wearing a top similar to this.  The top I'm wearing is actually a scarf I bought from a boutique in Tucson, AZ.  I've mixed and matched it a lot as a tube top, scarf and now a mermaid type of feel top.  It shows a lot of skin in the back but still in a classy way - at least for an EDM rave.

What you do: Wrap it around your neck as if you're putting a scarf on. Cross it, making sure the fabric is thick, apparent and covering everything.  Last, tie it in a knot in the back as delicately and pretty as you can.

The tight, bodycon flared pants are from Zara I bought back when living in Chicago during the Winter/Spring of 2017.  I believe AKIRA has a similar pair in stores now and for cheaper!

Grad Party Dress

Floral dresses are the signifier that the season has finally change.  I knew I was going to be around family, so I needed something traditionally "pretty" and family appropriate.  I bought this floral, loose staple from Forever 21 for $25.00.  Super cheap, especially when you're trying to save up after post-college grad life. This is the perfect seasonal dress for a spring or summertime.  Click here to buy this high-low assemble.

Fashion Inspos

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

Did you think we could ever forget about the most successful twins in Hollywood? Not only do the Olsen twins slay the red carpet, they slay at life.  In 2016, their Fashion Empire was worth an estimated $1 Billion. Their prized collection, The Row, was founded in 2006. The line is described as "a sense of relaxed and timeless elegance." I'm a huge fan of the line, per contra I know they receive a ton of slack for their outrageous prices. But hey, the Olsen twins have a strict standard.  Since then, the Olsens have won CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year — the highest award available to American fashion designers — twice, in 2012 and 2015. They are the definition of bad ass. #goals

Serena van der Woodsen

Gossip Girl is famous for their intense exposure of fashion. Serena van der Woodsen has to go down in history for having one of television's most desirable wardrobes. Serena is an inspiration because she's always switching it up. Sometimes she's playful, sometimes she's business, and then sometimes she's absolutely sexy and I love it. My senior year prom dress was inspired by Serena's gown in Season Four. Brooke even thought the dress was dope and bought it too.

Leandra Medine

Leandra Medine is why I repurpose all my sweaters, blouses, or casual tees. She has such a unique, one of a kind style. She is the author and founder of the ever-popular fashion blog Man Repeller. In 2012, Leandra was featured in Forbe's "Top 30 Under 30" as one of the year's "most influential trendsetters." She is someone I aspire to be one day - her own boss solely by creating.  Leandra once said, "It's enlightening, albeit intimidating, to think how much control we have over our own lives." Thus, let's not be afraid to reach for the stars. Believe in yourself entirely.

Karrueche Tran

Karrueche Tran's style is flawless. She can dress like a boss with such an alluring touch. When I analyze her style, all I can think is she gets it... she knows what she's doing. Karrueche's style is relatable because she will buy clothes from Topshop, American Apparel, Nordstrom, or H&M. AKA - places where I can afford, honestly. She began her career in the fashion industry as a personal shopper when working at Nordstrom.

Selena Gomez

Selena is everything. Not only is she beautiful on the inside, her style is remarkable on the outside. Selena always dresses so elegantly, especially on the red carpet. She carries herself with such poise and grace. I think she is a prime example of how to dress sexy yet not too revealing. She is a role model for myself as she is for millions of other girls. Her music is extremely therapeutic by singing about pain caused by ex boyfriend Bieber. Despite the heartbreak, Selena is glowing more than ever and I applaud her anytime she comes up in conversation.

Golden Birthday

I turned 22 years old on the 22nd, so my mind was set on buying a gold dress for my Golden Bday. We're in college, just trying to have a little fun with our outfit choices.

When I came across this dress and I was immediately like yes, this is the one. The brand name for this dress is Honey Punch. This dress was sold at Pitaya but is no longer available online. I'm sure if you type in Honey Punch Gold Antique Maxi Dress, you'd find it. Definitely on eBay.

I decided to do an outfit change because if I wore that beautiful gold dress to Sports, it'd be destroyed within the first five minutes. This romper was perfect because it was cute but still a little cheeky. I bought this romper for $25 here.

How to make the bottle

bottle of Cooks, J. Roget, or Chandon (all $20 or less)
sand paper
mod podge spray
gold glitter
(all supplies minus the champagne can be bought at Hobby Lobby)

Step 1: scratch any area you want to sprinkle glitter down with sandpaper, you want to get it really rough, so it's easier for the glitter to stick and stay.

Step 2: spray mod podge on a little section of one side of the bottle at a time. next, gently sprinkle the gold glitter. I personally like to use my fingers to sprinkle the glitter, so it evens out easier and honestly looks better. I apologize for this possibly being a messy project.

Step 3: turn the bottle, spray a little section of one side again and glitter. repeat, repeat, repeat.

Thank you to everyone who made it special<3

Rose-Hulman Formal Dress

Shouts to the number one engineering school in the nation for showing my girl Sally and I a good time. Brookie put me on this dress during spring break. I was obsessed with this dress because of the burgundy red and the velvet, while also being extremely flattering for my body type. This hot dress is from Tobiextremely affordable and good quality. In addition, Tobi constantly has great deals on their website.

DIY Trash Bag Dress by BK

I don't really know why anyone would need to know how to make a trash bag dress, but it just might come in handy one day?! Greek life is huge at my school, so themed parties tend to happen regularly with the crowd I hang out with. This theme was "White Trash Wedding" so I figured I would literally wear trash. I wanted to make it with the white trash bags, but they were way too small.

Making the top

  1. Take one large black trash bag and cut where the sides and bottom are connected. You are going to use the two sides of the trash bag.
  2. Cut out 2-3 long strips of the trash bag (about 2 1/2 ft long and 4 inches thick).
  3. Those pieces will lay around your neck and connect to the front of the skirt- leaving the entire back open and showing off the deep V in the front.

Making the skirt

  1. Take another trash bag and cut it out the same way as step 1 above.
  2. Lay the two sides on top of each other (so you don't have to cut it twice and so the material isn't see through or light in weight). Then cut off the corners. This will make a circle.
  3. Cut a small hole in the middle about the size of small bowl. Then stretch that hole in every direction until you can fit it over your waist. This makes the skirt.

Putting it together

  1. Lay the long pieces of trash bag around your neck like I mentioned above.
  2. Pull it tight and spread out them out width-wise so your girlies don't fall out!
  3. In order for it to be completely tight you may want to staple it to the top of the skirt or just tuck it into really tight spandex, that's what I did.

All done!

If You Can't Buy it, Rent It

Weekender szn is coming up! No one wants to go to Vegas for a weekender and wear the same old dresses and skirts they wear out every weekend at school. Weekenders and Vegas in general scream SOMETHING NEW! I was personally broke when this season rolled around last year, so I was forced to rent this dress and let me tell you - it was the best decision I ever made. I knew in my head I wanted something a little sparkly and a lot sexy. I really wanted to get a designer dress, but with my budget there was just no way. I'm 20 years old for God's sake! You can find this little number here. By the way, I ordered the smallest size possible and still had to tuck up the bottom of it to make it shorter. LA Stylist is definitely my favorite site for renting clothes, but a close second is Rent The Runway.

    BK's Cute and Casual

I know this picture is beat, but its the only one I have. I decided to post this simple outfit because I got a few compliments while wearing it. First of all the shorts..... If you don't own a pair of One Tea Spoon jean shorts click here because you need some. They might be pricey for shorts, but they are so cute and last a long time through wear and tear. I really love the shorts because they remind me of boyfriend jeans but in shorts version. I got the shorts at a boutique, but you can also find them here. (the link posted is a different color, but keep checking and I'm sure these will be back or google search One Tea Spoon jean shorts). I bought the graphic tee from here.

Country Outfit for a Rap Enthusiast

If you are anything like me, you would never attend a country concert unless its to A. dress up like a hillbilly or B. because your mom got you and your entire family tickets to Luke Bryan. This outfit represents option B. Im not a big country fan, but I do enjoy family, beer, and new clothes! I had no idea what to wear. I just knew I wouldn't be caught dead in cowboy boots. I bought the suede fringe crop top here. The belt here. Which by the way that site has way too many cute cheap belts. I would highly recommend looking there before any other store if you are looking for belts. I made the choker at a bead shop for like $5.

3 One Piece Swim Suits from BK

I recently went to Newport for the 4th of July. I learned that if your cool you call it "Newps" and you wear one pieces. And thats that, ya just do! I wasn't mad about it though, I think one pieces are hot. So I caved. Thats me in the all white suit. I bought it for super cheap here. The two cuties next to me in the red swim suits were nice enough to give me the exact sites they bought their suits at so if you like them go check them out! You can find the "Relax" swim suit here and the Deep V red swim suit here.

BK's dinner out with parents outfit

So I've recently noticed that I don't own a lot of "family appropriate" attire. Whenever I go out to eat with my boyfriends family or my friend's families I have trouble trying to find something that isn't too showy, yet still holds a certain level of class. I forget where I bought this shirt exactly, but I am sure someone could find it by typing in a few key words on Google. The shorts I bought from Urban Outfitters in 8th grade... still reppin' them 6 years later. The shoes I bought not too long ago at Nordstrom in the Free People section- definitely still there. I am a freak for shoes so I don't mind spending a little more money than usual on them. Plus I've never seen shoes like this before where the wood heel is engraved. I put the picture of the jewelry up with it honestly just because it makes the outfit and the setting I decided to display for the pictures!

    2 Bikinis from Kt

First and Foremost, shouts to Laine Hughes for putting me on this amazing swimsuit. Second, shouts to the Cabo crew for a one of a kind spring break. I don't know if I'll ever top such an amazing vaca. Third, shouts to my parents for making it possible for me to experience Cabo San Lucas. You guys are amazing and appreciated.

If I can take any chance to reminisce laughs and epic memories of this spring break, I will. These college years are so important as we will never be able to get these times back. I promise you I am not taking them for granted. xoxo -

Although Bieber didn't show much emotion or even a single smile during his concert in Indy, I still have a major fever. Before Justin announced he was playing his last song, he spoke meaningful words that hit me hard. He said something along the lines of, "People will try to get the best of you. And I don't mean this in a positive way. They want to get your flaws out of you. They want to see your weaknesses." Then went on singing his song Purpose, also the name of his entire album.

So important to let those words soak in. Not everyone wants to see you happy. Not everyone wants to see you succeeding... winning. Not everyone has amazing intentions for you. Don't be blind to anything. My advice - don't take advice. Follow your own path.

    Much love for Biebs.
